The meeting of St. Johns Lodge No.328 on the 6th Nov. was a unique occasion, unlikely to witnessed again by the brethren during the rest of their Masonic careers.
W.Bro. Frank Brunsden gave a marvellous rendition of the extended version of the Second Degree tracing board just 6 days before he celebrated his 100th birthday. Those present were aware that Lodge history was being created before their very eyes, and never has this difficult piece of ritual engaged such an attentive assembly, an experience for us all – even more so for the two young Masons fortunate enough to be the recipients of the work.
During the meeting honorary membership of the Lodge was bestowed on W. Bro.Brunsden, and presentations were made to mark the occasion by our visiting Grand Officer W.Bro. Peter Carrick, and W.Bro.Bruce Shepherd (Worshipful Master). A eloquent tribute to W.Bro.Frank’s Masonic career was then given by W Bro. John Attwood, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master for Devonshire.
